In case the audience is held at the Pope’s summer residence the tour operates on Sunday morning, the price is $50.00.

NAPLES AND CAPRI $186.00

After leaving Rome, the coach makes its way along the “Sun Route” motor way, crossing the regions of Lazio and Campania, with a view of the Abbey of Montecassino. Upon arrival in Naples, we will enjoy a short tour of the city before departing by boat to Capri. Immediately upon arrival, depending on the weather and sea conditions, you will take a trip to the Blue Grotto. Then return to Marina Grande where a mini-bus takes you up to Anacapri, a delightful village of white houses with a panoramic view over the entire Gulf of Naples. Lunch in a local restaurant. In the afternoon departure by boat to Naples and return to Rome by motor coach.

AMALFI COAST TOUR (2 DAYS, 1 NIGHT) ROME / NAPLES / POMPEII / SORRENTO / CAPRI / ROME

DAY 1 - Departure from Rome by deluxe motor coach south to Naples along the “Highway of the Sun.” After passing the Abbey of Montecassino, founded in 529 completely destroyed during World War II and faithfully reconstructed, stop in Naples for a sightseeing tour. See Piazza Del Plebiscito, the Royal Palace, the Basilica of San Francesco di Paola, the San Carlo Opera House, the Gallery of Umberto 1st and the imposing Maschio Angioino. Proceed to Pompeii, where after lunch in a local restaurant, you will visit the excavation of this Roman city buried by the eruption of Mt. Vesuvius in 79 AD. Continue south to Sorrento for dinner and overnight at your selected hotel.

DAY 2 - Following breakfast at the hotel, transfer to the port of Sorrento to board the hydrofoil to Capri, where, weather and sea conditions permitting, you will visit the Blue Grotto in small row boats. Enjoy a panoramic tour of Capri and Anacapri by minibus and on foot. Lunch in a local restaurant. Return to Sorrento and board your motor coach for Rome.

ORVIETO & ASSISI $128.00

Leaving Rome in a northerly direction we arrive at Orvieto, an ancient town of Etruscan origin, where we stop to admire the beautiful 14th century cathedral. We continue through the beautiful countryside where some of the famous wines of the area are produced. We stop for a taste of the local wines and to have lunch. In the early afternoon as we drive along the shores of Lake Trasimeno we arrive in Assisi. Start your walk with our guide through the narrow streets of the village to see the church of Santa Chiara, Piazza del Comune (Town Hall Square) the Palazzo del Popolo, Roman Temple and the Basilica of St. Francis. Upon leaving Assisi we proceed by coach to Santa Maria degli Angeli to visit the chapel of Porziuncola and the site where St. Francis died in 1226.

ANCIENT OSTIA $63.00

Leaving Rome and following sea road, Ostia was founded around the 4th Century BC by King Anco Marzio and became the harbor of Rome around which a flourishing trade and business center developed throughout the following centuries. The archaeological excavations undertaken at the beginning of the last century have brought the ancient city back to light. A rare witness of 900 years of Roman civilization. Your visit to Ostia Antica itself starts at Via delle Tombe, the Porta Romana, and includes the Decumanus Maximus, Terme di Nettuno where you can admire the beautiful black and white mosaics representing Neptune and Amphitrite, the Forum II Capitolium, the temple of Rome and Augustus, the Basilica and the large thermal baths.

NAPLES AND POMPEII $136.00

Daily, full day. Leaving Rome in a southerly direction. We take the “Highway of the Sun” crossing the fertile Roman countryside known as the area of the “Castelli Romani.” You will be able to see the Abbey of Montecassino. Arriving in Naples we will proceed towards the hill of Posillipo from where we can enjoy one of the most spectacular views over the Gulf of Naples and the volcano of Vesuvio. The city tour continues Piazza Del Plebiscito, Royal Palace, Basilica of San Francesco di Paola, San Carlo Opera House, the Gallery of Umberto I. Upon leaving the city pass the villages Ercolano, Torre del Greco, Torre Annumziata before arriving at Pompeii where we will first have a stop for lunch. After lunch we will continue with a local guide on foot for your archaeological journey through the ancient city for approximately a 2 hour tour. At the end of the visit to Pompeii we will then return to the coach for a journey of approximately 3 hours back to Rome. During this excursion we will visit a Coral and Cameo factory where we will have the opportunity to inspect and purchase items of this ancient craft dating back to Greek period.

FLORENCE $173.00

Daily (except Mon. and Wed.) — March 1 - November 15. Tues., Thurs., Sat. — November 16 - February 28. Florence: the cradle of the Renaissance period where you breathe art in the Medieval streets, where you will see craftsmen workshops and Renaissance palaces. Here the memories of the Medici family are united with the splendor of the works of the renowned artists: Michelangelo, Leonardo and Botticelli. The city tour will commence with a visit to the Academy Museum where you will see the magnificent David by Michelangelo and then, continuing on foot with your local guide to see the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, the Baptistery, Giotto’s Bell Tower, and Piazza della Signoria. Your included lunch will be served in a typical Florentine restaurant. After lunch, you will then continue to the Piazza Santa Croce where you will have the opportunity to visit one of the leather schools in order to admire one of the typical crafts of the city, you will also have some free time to discover some of the other ancient craft shops filled with mosaics and goldsmiths. Departure from Florence at approximately 5:00 pm for the return journey to Rome.

Dinner and overnight at selected hotel in Venice.
DAY 4 - VENICE
Breakfast in hotel. Morning at leisure for optional tour to the islands of Murano, Burano and Torcello by motor launch or for shopping. In the afternoon return to Rome by motor coach or by train.
